T-Mobile Customers Get More Service
In Rockefeller Center Concourse
InnerWireless Adds T-Mobile to System in Concourse
December 17, 2002 [Richardson, TX]
– The commute through New York’s Rockefeller Center
Concourse gets more interesting today for T-Mobile customers as
InnerWireless, Inc., an in-building wireless systems and services
company, and T-Mobile USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche
Telekom AG (NYSE:DT), announce the availability of T-Mobile wireless
service and features in the Rockefeller Center Concourse via InnerWireless’
in-building system, InnerWireless.
Just in time for the holidays, T-Mobile customers can now use their
service and features to talk it up, send instant messages and even
send pictures of their favorite holiday wish list items while en
route through one of the highest traffic commuter thoroughfares
in Manhattan and home to over 40 retail shops.
InnerWireless first installed the InnerWireless system and now
leases access to wireless providers, using licensed (PCS, Cellular,
paging, 2-way) and unlicensed (802.11 b/g) frequencies, who want
to provide service to the Concourse tenants and thousands of daily
commuters and visitors.
“Providing coverage in the Rockefeller Center Concourse is
a great service enhancement for not only our New York area customers
but the tens of thousands who visit the famed Rockefeller Center
Concourse from around the world,” said John Clelland, Senior
Vice President, Marketing at T-Mobile USA. “We’re pleased
to work with InnerWireless to deliver on our Get MoreSM promise
and make our service more widely available.”
“We are delighted T-Mobile has teamed with us to bring service
to their customers in the Concourse,” said Ed Cantwell, president
and CEO of InnerWireless. “Our InnerWireless system is inherently
future-proof upon installation, supporting a broad frequency range
from 400 MHz to 2.5 GHz. We can easily add multiple wireless service
providers and protocols for PCS, Cellular, 2-way – which includes
public safety, and paging without costly retrofits or disruptive
upgrades, and without interference issues.”
