InnerWireless Completes Compatibility Testing of Cisco's 802.11n Aironet 1250 Series Access Point
InnerWireless customers can now leverage the complete portfolio of Cisco 802.11 a, b, g and n technology
RICHARDSON, Texas – June 23, 2008 – InnerWireless®, Inc., today announced that its Horizon Converged Wireless Platform is compatible with 802.11n from Cisco, and the company is rapidly expanding its WLAN product portfolio to include offering the Cisco® Aironet® 1250 Series Access Point for Horizon.
Horizon is a next-generation layered WLAN architecture that enables multiple Wi-Fi access points and channels to coexist in the same coverage area. With multiple layers, Horizon provides inherent redundancy and the ability to separate mission- and life-critical applications from casual applications. Traffic management, by either wireless protocol, such as 802.11b/g and 802.11n, or by application type, such as VoWLAN and clinical, assures the integrity of the services in specific layers and provides improved application performance. Customers who deploy the Aironet 1250 Series 802.11n access point on the Horizon platform will uniquely be able to leverage the reliability, predictability, and throughput benefits of the two companies' technology.
"Delivering the power of Cisco's 802.11n product through the InnerWireless platform is a very compelling offering for customers who are looking for improvements in network performance, throughput, and ultimately, application assurance," said Michael Campbell, senior vice president of corporate development for InnerWireless. "We're excited to be the first in-building wireless distribution system vendor to offer 802.11n and Cisco 1250 Series Access Point compatibility."
InnerWireless is compatible with all 802.11 features, including narrowband, wideband and MIMO. With the combined Cisco and InnerWireless layered WLAN solution, customers can introduce 802.11n without affecting existing 802.11 b/g or 802.11a traffic and can fully optimize an 802.11n deployment by supporting different channel sizes (20 MHz or 40MHz) and different frequencies (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) on different layers.
InnerWireless helps businesses from Fortune 500 companies, to healthcare, to hospitality maximize the power of their wireless investments, regardless of the technology. Horizon manages the convergence of WWAN and WLAN, unifying virtually all wireless services onto one comprehensive and specifically engineered platform that guarantees wireless coverage for mission- and life-critical applications.
