Community Medical Centers Of Fresno To Enhance Communications With InnerWireless Medical-grade Wireless Utility

RICHARDSON, Texas and FRESNO, Calif. – March 8, 2006

InnerWireless®, Inc., the leading provider of in-building wireless systems, announced today that it has deployed its Medical-grade Wireless Utility in the new trauma and critical care building at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.  The hospital is utilizing InnerWireless’ Medical-grade Wireless Utility to enhance cellular service and two-way radio communication, and it plans to incorporate patient monitoring and clinical applications onto the system in the near future.  Community Medical Centers partners with the University of California, San Francisco to serve as a hub for medical education in California’s San Joaquin Valley.

“We began looking for a company that could provide a unified wireless infrastructure for multiple applications, and after visiting other facilities and speaking with InnerWireless customers, we discovered that their technology matched our needs,” said George Vasquez, CIO of Community Medical Centers.  “Installing InnerWireless’ Medical-grade Wireless Utility will help us reach our ultimate goals of improved productivity, enhanced quality of education that our medical students receive, and increased patient safety.  Installing this wireless infrastructure is a major first step toward our goals, and it will benefit the hospital well into the future.”

InnerWireless’ Medical-grade Wireless Utility supports the use of several wireless communication tools, including those that allow clinicians to be contacted via personal wireless paging devices.  By implementing the wireless paging system, high noise levels caused by traditional overhead paging systems are eliminated, thus enhancing Community Medical Centers’ healing environment.

“InnerWireless is pleased to have our system deployed in such a vital facility to further wireless communication in medicine and advance the overall healthcare process.  InnerWireless provides wireless technology that results in better clinical outcomes,” said Rick Gentry, Healthcare Vice President of InnerWireless.  “It is critical that Community Medical Centers, which supports a large population, be able to rely on its technology to save lives, and InnerWireless is proud to be chosen for that task.”

Community Regional Medical Center joins a distinguished group of more than 25 leading hospitals – including HealthAlliance Hospital, a member of UMass Memorial Health Care, and the National Institutes of Health’s Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center – in using InnerWireless to create a 21st century wireless ecosystem in their facilities.
