Healthcare CIO Eric B. Yablonka Named Chairman Of The InnerWireless Healthcare Advisory Council

Clinicians and healthcare executives work with InnerWireless to further enhance the Medical-grade Wireless Utility and its enterprise-wide distribution of wireless services

RICHARDSON, Texas – Jan. 24, 2006 – InnerWireless®, Inc., leading provider of in-building wireless systems, today announced that Eric B. Yablonka, vice president and chief information officer of The University of Chicago Hospitals and Health System (UCHHS), will chair InnerWireless' Healthcare Advisory Council during 2006. Yablonka and other Council members will help InnerWireless further improve its Medical-grade Wireless Utility and ensure that the wireless distribution infrastructure keeps pace with healthcare's increasing need for wireless services.

"The other Council members and I look forward to collaborating with InnerWireless, with the strong belief that our recommendations for the Wireless Utility will yield even greater value for the healthcare industry," Yablonka said. "InnerWireless is doing the right thing by working closely with healthcare leaders so we can identify and implement best practices for the Wireless Utility; doing so will help improve patient safety, facilitate collaboration between care givers, and improve patient and staff satisfaction."

The Wireless Utility is based on InnerWireless' distributed antenna system which supports a full range of wireless interpersonal, clinical, and building-services applications via an engineered, guaranteed and managed wireless environment. Rather than repeatedly installing and disrupting patient-care areas and maintaining multiple, discrete wireless systems, hospitals use InnerWireless to distribute several wireless services including clinical data, computerized physician order entry (CPOE), paging, public cellular services, nurse-call systems, and future monitoring applications. The system can also distribute two-way radio for security and maintenance, as well as WiFi and cellular phone access for patients, visitors, and staff.

"InnerWireless appreciates having Eric Yablonka as chair of our Healthcare Advisory Council. In addition to his more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Eric is passionate about using technology to improve patient outcomes," said Chris Click, Sr. Director of Marketing for InnerWireless. "We look forward to working with Eric and the other Council members whose input will help continually enhance the InnerWireless system so it is always the best platform for healthcare wireless ecosystems."

Yablonka has first-hand experience with the Wireless Utility infrastructure. He spearheaded the InnerWireless deployment at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital early in 2005.
