James McCoy, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President
Jim McCoy is chief technology officer and senior vice president for InnerWireless. Since joining the company in August 2000, McCoy has been instrumental in establishing InnerWireless' corporate strategy and product positioning, building its core team and expanding the company's IPR portfolio. At InnerWireless, he has led the transformation of in-building wireless from a collection of independent systems to a converged wireless platform suitable for enterprise mission-critical applications. Previously, he was CTO and vice president at SpectraPoint Wireless, a company focused on the broadband fixed wireless market.

Jim led all of SpectraPoint's development of broadband point-to-multipoint fixed wireless products and services. McCoy was recognized for his accomplishments at SpectraPoint by selection to Motorola's distinguished Science Advisory Board.

SpectraPoint's core product had its origins in Bosch Telecom and before that in Texas Instruments within the MulTIpoint Group. At Bosch Telecom McCoy served as CTO and vice president, and he developed several RF technologies to ensure the cost and quality of the SpectraPoint product. Before Bosch acquired TI's MulTIpoint Group, he was director of product management and director of engineering for MulTIpoint.

McCoy also held several positions with TI's Defense Systems and Electronics Group, where he was responsible for the technical and program management of product developments including advanced wireless technology and numerous classified weapons systems. He was recognized and honored throughout his tenure by his peers as a Distinguished Member Technical Staff.
McCoy is an active member of IEEE, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.

He earned a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering, specializing in information theory, and graduated with honors form the University of Alabama. McCoy also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and was an honors graduate from the University of Alabama.
